Intelligent Installation Case for LNG Tanker M/V “Sputnik Energy”

As global LNG transportation accelerates its shift toward intelligence and safety, a key project milestone has been achieved: the intelligent system installation for LNG Tanker M/V "Sputnik Energy" (IMO: 9256602) was successfully completed at Zhoushan Huafeng Shipbuilding on July 22, 2025, marking this Curacao-flagged vessel’s official entry into the "smart shipping" era.

Supported by core technologies and equipment from Xi'an Kaidun Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., the project features a customized intelligent solution tailored to the core characteristics of LNG tankers—"ultra-low temperature storage and high safety requirements". It not only covers real-time monitoring of pressure and temperature in ultra-low temperature LNG storage tanks but also integrates key functions such as energy efficiency optimization for the ship’s power system and remote fault early warning. By addressing both "safety protection" and "operational cost reduction", it provides shipowner East Shipping with a more competitive shipping asset.

During the implementation, Zhoushan Huafeng Shipbuilding leveraged its rich experience in special ship modification, strictly adhering to International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards to complete precise equipment wiring, system compatibility testing, and crew operation training. This ensured seamless integration between the intelligent system and the ship’s existing infrastructure, allowing immediate deployment after delivery. This successful multi-party collaboration not only significantly enhances the operational efficiency and safety redundancy of M/V "Sputnik Energy" but also demonstrates the maturity of China’s domestic maritime intelligent technologies, setting a practical reference for the intelligent transformation of similar LNG tankers in the future!
